Mullein

For every organ in our body there is a plant that carries the original organ’s DNA. For the lungs this plant is Ms Mullein.

When the lungs aren’t performing the way nature intended…..bring her in!

She is a gentle healer who has been used for thousands of years in many herbal traditions. Mullein’s soft fuzzy leaves are dried to make infusions. Her small bright yellow flowers are made into infused oil for use in ear related issues.

Coughs, asthma, sore throat and bronchitis. Mullein to the rescue!

Mullein infusion is best prepared as what is referred to as ‘Mullein Milk’.

To Make Mullein Milk:

  • 1 oz of the dried herb for a 1 quart jar

  • Add boiling water and allow to seep for 5 - 10 hours

  • Strain using a tightly woven fabric so her tiny hairs do not get through (thick cheesecloth, linen, fabric jewelry bag, muslin, handkerchief, etc)

  • Mix 1/2 mullein and 1/2 milk and bring to just below a boil

  • Add honey, cinnamon and/or nutmeg

Sit quietly with your warm cup and feel her work her magic!
